Typical duties for this position would include: Responsible for meeting internal and external customer requirements with specific emphasis on safety, quality, cost control, production requirements, and employee development.* Promote good housekeeping practices and a safe workplace * Perform monthly safety inspections and participate in safety training * Facilitate quality improvement and assist in resolving quality issues * Assist in meeting annual production and performance goals. * Manage department budgets * Work with engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and Vendors to ensure the best overall costs are procured in specific cost reduction efforts. * Ensure customer requirements are met by meeting the established build/ship schedule * Effectively plan manpower and overtime to ensure deliveries are met with the least amount of actual hours. * Be knowledgeable, follow, and ensure all company policies are being followed. * Facilitate cross training of employees for flexibility. * Conduct performance appraisals during probation period for new employees. * Assist with interviews for prospective employees. | ||||
